Before anyone gets excited about the new Star Wars films, just remember…
…They will most definitely be in 3D.
So allow that to temper your expectations a little bit, and let’s hope that it’s not all fucking tailored to 3D, so us lot who watch it in 2D can still perhaps appreciate the cinematography.
3D works for some films, but every motherfucking blockbuster is in 3D. I’m so fucking bored of it. So bored.
Disappointed Star Trek Into Darkness is in 3D, so I can’t just watch it in IMAX without having to watch it in 3D (Although the IMAX preview wasn’t too bad for the 3D and generally it’s a fantastic start to a film) and HUGELY disappointed Man Of Steel is in 3D, and not IMAX so I won’t be watching that at the IMAX. Especially with Man Of Steel, because they’re attempting to bring realism to Superman, and 3D completely detracts from realistic storytelling.
Oh well…I hope Hollywood gets bored of it and realises they should be pumping money into IMAX and standardising 70mm (or sadly the digital equivalent).
His presence makes clear that he loves what he does. He’s an actor who, no matter how many years later, loves what he does and brings every bit of passion to it. He said to me -
“All these other people are here. All the actors are here and they’re all doing the same thing and many of them for a very small fraction of the [money] or recognition…that I get, so why can’t I do it? Why can’t I stand here?”.
- and that’s a level of humility that I think makes someone an amazing artist and craftsman.
Revisiting Bollywood songs I used to listen to on repeat.
Ah the nostalgia.
It’s the really really old Bollywood that’s best though. Like 50s - 70s. Amazing songs, amazing lyrics. Hindi/Urdu are such beautiful, poetic languages, the best thing my parents have done for me is made sure I understand and speak Hindi.
You realise that some of the things that you are feeling as a person, they can be used for something. For something bigger than yourself…you can express yourself but through someone else’s words. I suppose that kind of thing struck me very strongly.
